Player loses finger from a slap shot. Until player can undergo reconstructive surgery in the off-season, this player?s passing is affected. Passing J & K become Passing L (with NO great passes) and he must use ?against PP? for spit deck passes. Use scenario # 1 to determine the player affected.

Two players collide during a play. Draw the next two split deck cards to determine the injuries. However, the minimum duration of injury is ?remainder of game?.

Player strike - roll the 20-sided dice to determine the number of games for the length of the strike...all current injuries progress (as per byes in the playoffs)...and current suspensions are cut in half.

Puck goes flying into bench and seriously injures the player?s head (remainder + 2 additional games). Use scenario # 2 to determine the player affected but if this results in a player on the ice, the coach is injured and the following is followed: Use scenario # 4 to determine the coach affected and duration of injury. While injured, the coach may not match lines when home; both teams must present lines at the same time. No substitutions allowed except for injuries, exhaustion, penalties or line changes. Face-off man can only be changed if thrown out of face off (pulling back). Players cannot be changed to best of their ability after penalties or rearranges at a stoppage. All bench penalties, 20 chart Off and Def, become bench penalties against injured coach, (unless they own incentive-13 [bench coach] then play as no bench coach). Injuries can carry forward and multiply like other types.

Bad ice develops. For the remainder of the game and the next game held at this arena, all penetration spreads are reduced by two (2). In addition, all passing attempts using the split deck are affected. Passes while on the power play read ?against-Even? and passes while even strength read ?against-PP?.

The next goal goes under review. Upon the scoring of the next goal in that game, each team rolls one die (roll again if tied). The higher roll gets to state whether the goal counts or not.

A Player?s training allows that player to play extra positions. A forward would then be able to play ANY forward position. A defenseman would then be able to play either defense position. Use scenario # 2 to determine the player affected. Roll again if a goaltender is determined to be the affected player.

Player has family tragedy and is emotionally unbalanced. He subsequently has a temporary lapse of behaviours that impact his playing ability. For this player, randomly increase or decrease the following player attributes: - Offense up 1 to a max of 4 or down one to a min of 1 - Defense up 1 to a max of 5 or down 1 to a min of 1 - intimidation up 4 to a max of 14 or down 4 to a min of 0 - Passing up or down according to the scale: 0 passer --> J passer --> K-passer --> L-passer --> super-passer - [increase/decrease assist rating by 1 as well] Use scenario # 2 to determine the player affected. Roll again if a goaltender is determined to be the affected player.

Player gets into a fight with a fan. Player gets injured in scuffle and is suspended for his actions. Roll dice and use injury chart to determine body part injured day-to-day. Roll one 6-sided die to determine the length of the suspension. Use scenario # 2 to determine the player affected. POLICE INVOLVEMENT!

Player practices shot and gains the opportunity to add a Goalie Rating to his card. Use scenario # 2 to determine the player affected. Then roll the 6-sided die to determine the column (1=outside, 2-3=inside, 4-6=rebound). Then roll the 20-sided die twice to determine a choice to which dice roll to give a Goalie Rating (1,8,13-20 means no Goalie Rating given). The coach then can choose if he wants to leave the card as is or place a Goalie Rating in one of the two rolls.

Player receives special passing training for the remainder of the season. The player?s assist rating increases by two (2) for great-pass references, he is considered a Super Passer and all J, K, L passes are successful (even if they say lose to ?). Use scenario # 2 to determine the player affected.

A player receives special defensive training. Add one (1) to the player?s defensive rating and add two (2) to their intimidation rating. Use scenario # 2 to determine the player affected

After the game, a bar-room brawl occurs involving one or more players. Each of the involved players are suspended for their actions. POLICE INVOLVEMENT! Use scenario # 3 to determine the players affected. For each player affected, roll one 6-sided die to determine the length of the suspension.

Z-Chart Immunity. One team earns the ability to nulify the effects of a subsequent Z-Chart reference of its choice against itself and/or it's players. The Immunity does not expire, but can only be used once. It can not be used to overturn the effects of a previous Z-chart reference. To determine the team, roll one die. Odd = home team. Even = visiting team. This benefit is tradeable.

Hyperbolic Bubble - For the remainder of the current season and its playoffs, one team rents an oxygen chamber which drastically reduces the duration of all future injuries by a factor of 1, to a minimum of "Remainder of Period". To determine the team, roll one die. Odd = Home team. Even = Visiting team.

Player receives training to get ?incentive-type? abilities. This player can for any game be designated ?FO?, ?PP?, and/or ?PK?. Use scenario # 2 to determine the player affected. Note: roll again if a goalie is determined.

Player signs with KHL for remainder of season and in not available for SHL (and can not be penalized for any game playing violations). However, GM randomly takes one player from AP pool (of the same position) to play for the team in the player's absence (but are not required to play any games). At the end of the regular season, the 'rented' player goes back to the AP pool and the KHL signee returns to the team. To determine which player, first roll one die; Odd = Home team. Even = Visiting team. Then, with equal probability, use the dice to randomly choose one of the players from the entire team roster.

Illegal performance enhancing drugs are used in the team?s locker room. Starting in this game, use scenario # 2 to determine the player (and team). Due to drug use, this player may play every shift for current game, but must sit out the following game. The 20-sided die is used to determine the player using drugs before the next game begins. Once the player is determined for the second (and subsequent) game, roll two 6-sided dice. The following outcome from the dice results in POLICE INVOLVEMENT: ? Doubles, or ? An outcome that sees a player affected for a second time during this particular Z-Chart episode. The affected player is arrested after the game for drug use and suspended for two games. At this point, this team no longer uses drugs.

Referee bias occurs in favour of one team. For the remainder of the game, all Action Cards with ?Opponent Defense 7-10? references for the favoured team become Opponent Defense 11?. For the opposition, all ?Possible Breakaways? are immediately called ?off-side? with a face-off at center ice. Roll one 6-sided die to determine the ?favoured team?. Odd=visiting team, Even=home team.

Following the game, player gets into a serious car accident and injures every part of his body (injury factor is day-to-day for each part). Use scenario # 2 to determine the player affected.

Player becomes a hypochondriac. Before every game for the rest of the season player must roll two 6-sided dice. A roll of 7 indicates that the player feels ill and may not play that game. Use scenario # 2 to determine the player affected.

The team gets to sign a ?walk-on? player. Blindly pick 4 AP pool players (maximum 1 goalie). The team may then choose one of those players to become a member of the team for the remainder of the current season and its playoffs. This player isn't required to play the season's playing requirements. After the playoffs are over, this player is returned to the AP pool.

Cheatin' Spouse - Two players on the same team get into a dispute. For each subsequent game, both players refuse to play if the other is in the lineup. To determine which players, first roll one die; Odd = Home team. Even = Visiting team. Then, with equal probability, use the dice to randomly choose two of the players from the entire team roster. This outcome is in effect for the remainder of the current season and also the subsequent season.

The International Hockey Association declare that two countries have decided to face off in a head-to-head international tournament. (Similar to the ?72 Summit Series) All nine teams' top point producing player(s) leave to represent their country. To determine the players, randomly select two teams from the following countries: 1. Canada 2. USA 3. Russia 4. Sweden 5. Czechoslovakia 6. Other All players will fall under one of these selections based on their country at birth. Based on each players points per game ratio at the time of this z-chart, each team in the league loses two players for each of the represented countries for a total of 7 consecutive games. The top goaltender from each country, based on current season's save percentage, is automatically included on each country's roster, counting as one of his SHL team's two contributing countrymen.
